Amazon/Kindle now offers amateur authors the opportunity to publish their books in paperback form. After talking with other authors about this, and taking a survey of how many of my friends and acquaintances really have kindles or kindle apps, I've decided to publish Norton The Third in paperback form as well as electronic.

This brings up a slew of new issues, but they are rather easily solved. I had to choose which size book (5-1/4 x 8 inches), and then coerce Microsoft Word and Kindle Direct Publishing to agree on a reformatted version of the manuscript. For the benefit of other writers out there, this was a painful process, but I ultimately prevailed over these two, very pedantic, very stubborn pieces of software. Get very familiar with the inner workings of Word's custom paper size and margin settings!
