The Hat and the Fish
While Bill and Ben were reading the manuscript for content and style, Tory van Wey, graphic artist, was reading it to get a sense of what it's "really about". I saw her first draft for a cover design today, and am delighted to report that the twin "MacGuffins" of Norton The Third are: a threadbare top hat with a peacock feather, and a big, bug-eyed goldfish.
As I mentioned in a prior post, I commissioned an internet-based artist to create a "typical" cover illustration, and she did a fine job. But Tory's design gets to the heart of the story, and I'm delighted with it.
