Schedule Update: Publish in April

The writing work on Norton The Third continues to go well. I have some days when I get stuck on something (such as a plot problem, or writing a new blog post), but the number of beats to be written keeps decreasing, and the manuscript keeps getting longer. It's currently about 300 pages, approximately 145,000 words. The writers workshop thinks that the "average novel" (whatever that is) is 75,000 to 180,000 words. So, if this were a high school paper -- wow! -- I'd already be done!

I've asked my expert editing team (who coincidentally all have the same last name as mine) to expect to receive the manuscript on approximately March 1, and suggested that we complete all revisions during the month of March. Meanwhile, we have a cover design in the box ready to go, but a very capable artist, married to one of the aforementioned editors, has offered to take a crack at a better one, also during the month of March.

If we stick to this schedule, we'll have nothing remaining to do in April but format the book for Kindle Direct Publishing, and then push the big red "publish" button.

Best guess: early April for that. Don't worry, you needn't write it down. I'll be mentioning it again in the future.
